Aim

To bring reforms in the Health Sector. This is the beginning of a 10 year project (partnership of Govt. of NWFP & GTZ, Based on 6-monthly work plan)

Introduction
Support to Health Sector Reforms (SHSR) Project is a joint project of the department of health NWFP and German Technical Cooperation (GTZ).
Time Required for Completion of the Project is 48 Months from July 2004 to June 2008. Project is based on 9th Five year plan. The scheme is included in the ADP 2004-05 (S.No. 40075) with allocation of Rs. 10.00 million.
Roles and Responsibilities
SHSR project is designated to support the health sector reform initiatives undertaken by the Government of NWFP/Pakistan. The main areas chosen under the mandate of the project in bringing reforms in the health sector are:
  • Quality management and quality health care provision matching the international standards.
  • Decentralization: capacity building of the District Management teams bringing the reforms in accordance with the true of devolution.
  • Health Care Financing: Establishing alternate modes of how to finance health care.
  • Support to HSRU in terms of its capacity building and financing it for outsourced consultancies. Click here to go back
