Achievements
- Public Private Partnership (PPP)
- Contracted seven districts to SRSP and MOUs at provincial & district level have been signed.
- Developed a PC-I for Autonomy of EDO’s in two districts with performance based incentives, (this has been developed and submitted to the P&D Department). A workshop was organized in this regard and included all 24 districts. It was agreed that the district for autonomy should be selected on a voluntary basis.
- Scrutiny of BHUs which have been contracted out has been initiated.
- Developed various indicators to assess performance of the district government.
- Health Financing
- Social Health Insurance (Concept of Social Health Insurance is being worked out for implementation). Workshop included leading Ulemas and Mashhaiqh of the country.
- German and Philippines social health insurance models have been studied. Draft SHI laws are being examined in line with the Philippines health insurance model after which laws for NWFP would be formulated shortly.
- A German Consultant is working on developing insurance scheme for the formal sector (only government employees), he has gathered information from the finance and allied departments and is revisiting in January with his final report.

- All round table meetings with stakeholders from various sections of the population have been held.
- Draft policy has been formulated but has not been given a final shape because the Federal Government is in the process of making National Health Policy.
- Donor Coordination
- Human Resource Development
- An international consultant in collaboration with GTZ visited in this connection and has done situational analysis on Human Resource Management in line with LGO, report was submitted and thoroughly discussed in HSRU. The consultant will submit his final report in two weeks time and if concurrence is given action would be taken on recommendations given.

- Standard protocols have been developed for first and second level Health Care facilities.
- Tools for assessment of these standards protocol are in process of development.
- Baseline survey of standards in all districts under process.
- Categorization of health facilities/hospitals in the district.
